Emory University has a film show once a week February through April. Classic films are shown in there original format on 35mm. Last Wednesday the line up was Never Give A Sucker An Even break and Cobra Woman. The University theater is very comfortable with good acoustics. What a treat and it's free! This was W.C. Fields' last picture. Universal gave
Fields a lot of creative power on this picture, which boasted an impressive cast. His co star was the young singer, Gloria Jean. Also there was Leon Errol and Margaret Dumont.

[set5_b/set5_b/hurray.gif] Ya know I'm jealous Dan. We have nothing remotely close to what you get to enjoy. In fact, last week was the demise of the last of the "film" projection in my area. ALL the projectors (and gear) were tossed into dumpsters to give way for the future of movie viewing.

Very sad to hear Wayne. Thankfully here in town we have an owner who would rather close the theater than invest any more into it. We are still running 8 screens of 35mm and also thankfully still have an 8 screen drive-in about an hour away running 35mm once it finally warms up. Still enjoying the old times here. Seen a digital presentation and was far from impressed by it.

Erik, there is an 8 screen drive in here too. I should check it out. Haven't been to a drive in in decades.

Wayne, the only thing missing at Emory is the snack bar. No food or drinks allowed. The free parking is on campus and the campus is very beautiful. Next show i can make will be The Birds.
