Hi, I just found an FS-10 projector where the cabinet splits into a table and speaker. I see the -N has a separate box with the speaker. I could only locate a manual for the later -N model. My question is are the projector and amplifier identical in both? Am I safe using the diagrams, part numbers, bulbs, belts etc of both? Except for the mounting of a threadlight, I don't see any obvious differences. And is the speaker the same also?
This is my first foray into film land and I am anxious to try out some of the pile of 16mm reels I found on Craigslist. The seller listed westerns, cartoons and comedies, and when I picked them up, warned me there were a couple of "girlie" films among them. From his description, they are tame stuff by todays standards.
I am a collector of tube radios - civilian and military. The old movie bug bit me when I put in a $3 bid on an old hand wind Keystone projector and won the auction. Of course that led to wanting something to play on it. And then deciding something more sophisticated was needed. Finding the FS-10 locally for $40 sealed my fate. Now I'll need to sell enough radios to clear space for my own little theatre. My goal is to get my little nieces and nephews interested in old B&W as they won't watch an old movie on tv. But you can't make finger puppets in front of the television.
Thanks for any help forthcoming.
