I have the 200' FIRST MEN IN THE MOON silent/red version and it is scope. The Ken 200' GODZILLA vs THE THING and GHIDRAH THE THREE HEADED MONSTER are in scope too. Both are B&W silents. I wonder why these couple titles were printed that way?

The reason those old "home movie" versions are in scope is probably that the editor was just handed whatever pre-print material the producer gave him to work with, and did the best he could with it. By the way, thanks to today's flat screen digital plasma TV's, it's easier than ever to enjoy watching things in the wrong aspect ratio...
