I'm actually taking the time to "fix" a bandsaw print. Don't ask why, I really don't know why other than to use up some less than desirable splicing tape and extra time. I have done a couple cartoons in the past...I should have remembered how much I hated it and tossed this feature in the trash. Now that I have started, I can't stop 'till I run the damn thing at least once. To make things worse, it is NOT a highly desirable title and it is only SP stock. |

Wayne, one word, therapy. At least you know you're in the right hobby. What's the title? |

AMG gives it 3 stars. I have never heard of this film. Maybe I'm in the wrong hobby. I can see how Steiger could look like Fields, though. Seems there were several of those type films in the 1970s. I always loved the line "50 pounds and chop it fine". |

Tell ya what Dan, after I'm done and screen it, I'll send it to you to not enjoy When you are done, send it to someone else...and so on. ONE day, someone will trash it...it just ain't gonna be me. |

No, no, no, anything but the dreaded band saw print. I have a 400' section of Moth Man that is band sawed and respliced. It drove me nutz trying to watch it. Start the cycle by sending it to Chris. |

I have to say that the only bansaw print I ever reassembled was Any Given Sunday theater print. It was a pain in the backside to line up each indiviual strip of film but actually was worth it to hear and see Pachino scream the f-word every few seconds. The only reason I reassembled the film was because it just didn't exist on the open market. Actually it plays very well now with tape splices. Have a copy of Roger Rabbit also that was reassembled that plays well also if you can put up with the splices. |

Quote: Have a copy of Roger Rabbit also that was reassembled that plays well also if you can put up with the splices. My 400' clip from Moth Man has a click sound every revolution. Is that that unavoidable when restoring band saw prints. I have never spliced one back together. |

I have a bandsawed scene from Toy Story 2 and whoever put it together got some of it out of order...it's all jumbled up. Every time I look at the can and contemplate fixing it I shake my head NO and leave it on the shelf. Bill |
