had a curious fix lately. Have had a well-working Viewlux 16mm projector that I got for nothing a couple years ago. I don't use it because it takes a horrible amount of power. But when I got it the tube amp worked great but the wires to the sound lamp were broke. To replace them would mean completely dismantalling the projector. What I did was take a high-brightness LED out of a walkway lamp and putting it in place of the exciter lamp. Thankfully the Viewlux does use a cateye and works well with a cheap Radio Shack battery holder and light swich. Talk about old meeting new. Using an LED with a tube amp is kind of a rush for me since I've dealt with old and new tech in my life but never combined them.
