Derann stated that it closed because the riots increased their insurance cost and the rising cost of living along with stiff competition from mega video stores. What if they had moved their film lab to an out building in a low rent area or residence, then sold their new and used prints on Ebay and their existing website. No video, just film. Do you think it would turn a profit?

There are a lot of dealers who do very well with ebay stores just selling film. One would think that with their reputation they should have as good as, if not a better chance than many.
However, with the minimal descriptions they gave on their website, they wouldn't sell a lot. That would have to change.
Having said that though, there are some collectors who will buy any ol' crap from them just because they're "Derann".
