It's time for a big holiday weekend here in the USA...are you showing anything special for the 4th of July? I've been digging through the archive and right now it looks like THE SPIRIT OF '43 with Donald Duck and ALL STAR BOND RALLY in Super 8 while my feature will be YANKEE DOODLE DANDY in 16mm. And, since the weather has been picture perfect here in the east, I'll show these outside. My kind of night: great films and some frosty beers and popcorn.

No, holiday shows this weekend. I just returned from Charleston South Carolina visiting my Uncle who celebrated his 100th birthday. He's still fit as a fiddle. [set5_b/set5_b/hurray.gif] Tomorrow(the 4th) it's off to the fireworks show on the lake. [set5_b/set5_b/cheers2.gif]

I'm running one for myself!

Going to watch The American Freedom Train.

....and some stuff I picked up at a flea market today. Bugs and Tweety 'toons, Shirley Temple Rags to Riches and Popeye...all B&W silents. Not sure what else as I'm going to spend some time in the cinema organizing so I'm sure I'll be taking some breaks!

The weather was perfect for an outdoor show here in the east: warm, dry and with a low dewpoint. My new inflatable screen arrived yesterday, and I can't wait to try it out this coming weekend. After several years of maintaining a permanent outdoor screen, I decided I'd had enough when some blizzard weather took it down last winter. I hope the inflatable is as good as the posted reviews say it is. I'll soon find out.

Chris, Maybe you could post some pix of your new set up. Or, even better, it could be on the screening room link. [set5_b/set5_b/cheers2.gif]

I bet ours was not as good as the show at your lake...but this was only for a private party anyhow. I had to stretch it out to about 23 minutes instead of 15-16 minutes which I thought would have been perfect. As it is, it took a total of 5 working days to set up, fire, and tear down, not including the countless hours of plannings and meetings.

Thanks Chris

Being it is/was private, I won't give full details...I will say that the gentleman spent more than many small cities or towns do on their shows.

Great show, Wayne. Unfortunately the show I was going to attend got rained out. We arrived at Lake Oconee just in time for the rain to beginn. Being hardy sailors [set5_b/set5_b/smilielol5.gif] , we four boarded my craft anyway hoping the rain wouldn't last.........wrong! [set5_b/set5_b/rant.gif] We returned to dockside soaked. [set5_b/set5_b/nopity.gif] [set5_b/set5_b/grouphug.gif] Maybe next year. [set5_b/set5_b/hurray.gif] [set5_b/set5_b/cheers2.gif]
