Post subject:  BELL AN HOWELL 456A PROJECTOR ISSUE

disregard last post on b an h from me, belt was finally put on. now issue that I have is with the film threading lever, I am including a pix of it. when I press down on it to start threading film thru projector the bottom roller rotates but then stops then rotates then stops, so its impossible to thread film thru, could this be nothing more then a simple lube job? or is it possibly something else. everything else seems to be a go if I can resolve problem w/film threading lever. please help? thnx [set5_b/set5_b/smash.gif] pix was not uploaded, size to big.

Thomas, the bottom roller problem could be dirty. So take roller off. And clean the shaft it rides on. Than put back and try it . hopefully that should fix it. Leon Norris.

I have a Bell and Howell 456a with other issues. I noticed that the first metal roller would sometimes bind when I turned it. When I looked closer, I saw that the clip that goes over the post to hold the roller on was installed off center and the clip would drag on the roller all along. I removed the clip, cleaned everything up, straightened the prongs on the clip, then reinstalled the clip using a socket. That centered it and let it spin freely.

Being new to this forum, I'm going to try to attach a picture. Good luck.
