I am aware that grease on the cork disc can cause slippage and that loose belts can be an issue plus improper tension on the springs can also be the culprit. Is there any other thing that can cause this problem? |

Which particular projector, Roger? I've had this happen on 16mm machines with larger reels. |

Hi John, Sorry for the delay but I have been out of town and just got back in. It will rewind within just a few feet of the film and then will stop. |

Tighten the tension on the take-up reel clutch. |

Hi Dan, I am trying to help a fellow on line and don't have the projector in hand. He has cleaned the cork disc and tightened the tension on the springs. He now thinks it might be one of the belt pulley gears since he can push it against a larger gear next to it and the reels will start moving again. I'm not sure if it is the front or the rear one. I have an email into him awaiting for an answer. |

The rewind issue seems to be resolved. He said that he tightened the tension spring after moving the belt on the back sprocket which also tightened the belt. The 800ft reel will rewind in 102 seconds and the service manual calls for 100. I did recommend joining the forum. |
