Why are Grehte Ingmann's Early recordings so hard to find? I would love to find recordings with she and her husband Jorgen from the 1960s. :D

Greetings Dan
Doing some checking in our record shops

Are you Danish by any chance ?

Grethe Ingmann, born Clemmensen (17 June 1938 – 18 August 1990), was a Danish pop and jazz singer.

She is best known as a member of the duo Grethe og Jørgen Ingmann, along with her husband, guitarist Jørgen Ingmann, whom she had married in 1955. Together, they won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1963, representing Denmark with the song “Dansevise”.

After the couple divorced in 1975, Grethe Ingmann successfully continued her career as a solo artist, participating in the Danish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest anither twice more, finishing fifth in 1978 and second in 1979.

Having battled alcoholism for a decade, Grethe Ingmann died from liver cancer in 1990.

Richard, my lineage is from the north of Germany, so it could be tied into Danish. That was 300 years ago though.

When I was a mere teenager I read the back of Jorgen Ingmann's Apache album and was facinated to find he had recorded all instrumentation, mimicking drums and other effects, all with his guitar. This guy was heavily influenced by Les Paul for sure. Now, I find his wife Grethe was a superb singer with a large discogarphy. Their song from 1963, Dansevise, just blew me away, so I did some searchng and found this jazz album she did in 1955. This is what I'm looking for and maybe their 1963 album. There is an mp3 download. I guess i could burn a cd from that.

Hi Dan,
I am checking with my New Jersey sources across the bridge; if it exists on vinyl, my friend Greg will locate it.
Here's a link to a web dealer that might help:
